Ekya's funding methodology is unique.

Ekya is attempting to revolutionize the way that projects are funded. We believe in accountability, transparency and most importantly, impact.

We believe in the power of research, accountability, impact and transparency. As a donor organization, its our responsibility to ensure that our grants are being utilized properly, and most effectively. We aim to fund projects that are impacting lives most efficiently. The most important metric that we employ when evaluating projects is positively impacted lives per dollar spent. Ultimately, this metric is what matters to us. We want to ensure that the most good is being done per dollar. Analyzing projects in this manner help ensure integrity, impact and also help us combat corruption and inefficiency.

However, we also realize that the most effective groups may also be the best funded and most organized. While we strongly believe in the power of strong organizations, we also believe in the power of spreading funds across the spectrum of groups. This is why we focus on projects vs. organizations. It is equally likely for a grassroots organization working on their first project to obtain funding from Ekya as it is for a well-known, established NGO. However, we find ourselves slightly biased towards the smaller, startup project.
